Punjab got the worst institutions in Pakistan…
@Ilyas,
That's because bureaucracy is too thick in Punjab. In here they are fond of hierarchy and formalism and obstruct new initiatives and project implementation. It takes a non-conventional Showbaaz to penetrate through.
Otherwise, the best way around is to put a Buzdar at helm, sniff some stuff and stay high!
Bureaucracy is thick and fuddled, no doubt. Corrupt and Lazy. However, the sort of witch-hunting through NAB going on, even the straight forward of the work will not pass through Sarkari Babu Table, as that can later be a trap.
Just see the cases of Umer Saif, ITU, PITB, PKLI victimised, witch-hunted. Option becomes simple to not do and be safe rather then to do and get crushed.
Agreed with non-conventional approach:
Its a combination of decades old incompetency & Fear that SS did got over to a large extent, sometime using unconventional means but these means have been exploited now by NAB to go after (the fear factor).

Isloo 1 sahib, how have you been doing buddy?
Personally while dealing a government employee in Punjab and especially from federal government that makes me so high to chop off their heads qasam sa..... In punjab they grab hell from your pocket and still do not do your job done... In KP they grab hell from your pocket and do your job DONE with the BENT HEAD at least......
Ohhh Dear Isooo one and the only one....... " BORN AT THE WRONG TIME AMONG THE WRONG PEOPLE".....
PAK (woman): " CAN NOT LIVE WITH... CAN NOT LIVE WITHOUT".....
Isoo 1 sahib by the way, The biggest scientists of the property over here never recommended B-17 well and i think it is the only society that has performed well in this one year from investment point of view.....
Everyone inlcluding me recommended bahria phase 8.... after my deep research it is the biggest stupidity to construct a home over there due to THE MOST STUPID AND EXPENSIVE DESIGN on earth...... Pile concreting for two story building etc IS THE BIGGEST JOKE OF THE CENTURY.....
Dear Ilyas,
Pile concreting not for all.It depend on soil test report if there is filling then otherwise no.It is good for safety point of view.It is true in Bahria construction cost is more then local area because they level more area not like CDA who keep as natural land up and down.
Regards
Dear Ilyas sb, I've been keeping well thanks.Just remained away from the forum as there was nothing substantive here.
The art and science in dealing with them is not to show the depth of your pockets and certainly not your desperation and urgency. Otherwise, you're doomed. Their stomachs are deeper than your pockets and rate multiplies with your desperation, it's simple math.
Surely B-17 is highly under-rated despite its development quality, location and size. Two factors, I guess, crushing at margalla hills and hectic GT/Peshawar road access. But hey, its good for purchasers, no?
Bahria shifts its responsibility and cost to builders by adding extra steel and concrete. This is for the face-saving sake amid deteriorating reputation of their vast filled-without-compacting lands. So your best bet is to find a solid/cutting parcel.
CDA shifts its development cost to builders too by leaving the land un-leveled. So some house builders in G-13 and D-12 end up paying well over a million just to remove boulders and excavate for foundation and basement.
@isloo 1 sahib the great: @desperation and urgency : In this matter they are the masters and they are like whores and they know what is the " EXACT RIGHT TIME" to take the buck out of your pocket....
Extra concrete and steel: I came across a design recently.... TWO FEET THICK CONCRETE RETAINING WALL has proposed in a TWO STORY BUILDING..... can you believe it? Is it engineering? Or they are building Turbela Dam inside the two story building........ It is the funniest thing to propose piling concrete for two story building..... THE Pile concreting is very technical job and very few are experts in the market as pile concreting is only done in bridges or high rise buildings..... when i interviewd few guys doing pile concreting in BAHRIA STUPID TOWN PHASE 8, They were doing BALATKAAR of the pile concreting.......
CDA is doing right job... they should not fill depression like a MAKE UP to a black lady and the make up washes away in the morning.....
Construction of two story buikding in Marshy or Depression area: Excavate for at least 6 feet or as recommended by a real structure engineer( not from bahria town....) and then fill the area with 6 inch thick sub base or gravel materials and each lawyer be compacted to 95% to 98% density in the presence of a material testing lab and this process will take hardldly two days and you will get the strongest base for your building..... you will get an economical safe building at the end and that is called engineering.........
@Nadeem Sahib: In the past people were building SHAHI QILLA in Lahore, because in those days labor was cheap or free or you had to feed them only, no concept of economy of building etc......
Ilyas sb.
We are in the active earth quake zone, too!
Yes, it is expensive but it sure pays back during more than 5 scale vibrations which are happening all the time!
This time it was as close as Jehlum !
We are in the job and believe me sir, it is not as hugely expensive as thought of !
Sir G,
Earth quake design are taken into consideration already by the designer but i do not know, being a civil engineer, that a design of RETAINING WALL WITH 2 FEET THICKNESS for a two story building!!! The building will sink because of the load of such a STUPIDEST AND DUMBEST WALL design........
The funniest thing is that inspite of piling many buildings are still cracking and sinking...... I think this practice of stupidity in Bahria phase 8 should be stopped......
I think all those serious in construction in Bharia phase 8 must make a design from UET LAHORE or UET PESHAWAR instead of doing it with BUKHARI or some stupid there......
UET: UNIVERSITY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY
Sir G
Shortcomings are everywhere. Just see inside DHA-2 park in sector-B, Kid's climbing mountain.
The stupid man who designed , I bet He did not visit any place outside Pakistan?
There must be soft plastic floor or sand as if a child drops , it is safe falling on the soft floor but the dude put concrete in the floor!
Allah forbid if kid falls down , the floor will smash head like a water melon.
Having said that , sir, let me tell you our experience :
We made commercial units on soft land and obeyed all BT regulations...I mean all demands of BT and extra cost in one unit was just 5 Lacs more, had we adopted your way of construction!
If you spend crores of Rs on house , 5 Lacs more is a peanut and you are making yourself safe not bahria town.
Yes since you are an engineer and may be it is a shotcoming or extra cost as per your expertise , but it boils down to safety
Ohhhh Dear Sir G, 5 lac might be your experience and you might be the LUCKIEST man in Bahria Phase 8 but as per my personal experience of construction, Worst ever construction practice is going on in Bharia Phase 8 and i would request those constructing home in Bahria phase 8 must review their design from some reputed univercity of Pakistan like Lhr etc and it would save millions of money of the INOOCENTS building in Bahria phase 8..... OTHERWISE good luck with FUNNIEST PILE CONCRETE for two storey building ......
Ohhhhh my Dear Isloo1 sahib, The shockable and laughable BALATKAAR of construction is going on in Bahria Phase 8.....
"RRR will now begin from the Radio Pakistan building on the GT Road. Previously, the plan was to start it from Banth on the same road. Also, the RRR will now end near a site of a private housing scheme."
Can someone guess this Private society.....?
https://www.zameen.com/news/rrrs-route-design-plan-altered.html
Not much to be trusted from these people unless final layout and ground work begin.
If the news is to be considered any true, taking into account whatever layout were tentative and made public. The guesstimation is Main route Radio Pak/Hajj Complex to somewhere close to BT P8 through chakri. Rest small intersections as connecting points.
The news doesn't mention how that connects RWP with New Airport. The connection has to exist somewhere close to Thalian Interchange.
Agree with Imtiaz sb,
"Jithay di khooti, othay aa khalooti" the layout plan is again where it was long time ago and it does not say where it would be end if starts from Radio Pakistan building. It must be ended to airport link road or atleast Kashmir Highway otherwise what is the point of bypass/ring road if it does not facilitate heave traffic/normal traffic which does not have to do anything with Pindi city. They can go bypassing pindi just in case it is attached with any main route. If they attach it with Haji Complex it would be traffic mess again from Haji Complex to motorway chowk & Sangjani.
Latest is that in last 2 months, 2 DGs of RDA are out and PC-I for RRR by RDA that was due in 3 months (some years back) is still not out yet...
So which society is going to be benifitted by RRR? if its capital city, they there is no need to call it "ring road" or "pindi bypass" as it has to be nothing to do with rwp and isd.
https://www.express.com.pk/epaper/PoPupwindow.aspx?newsID=1106996310&Issue=NP_ISB&Date=20191210
Its anybody's guess, if I had to put my money that had to be BT (end at one side) or Taj Res (end at other side). However, for RRR there is much more non-sense news then even an iota of real progress...
Nothing to be taken serious unless the real work starts!!
Agree Imtiaz sb,
it would be more stupid if the RRR is not connected with Thalian airport road, that would reduce the traffic problem from the city and easy for people coming from Rawat Gujjar Khan Chakwal etc.
RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has enhanced the scope of work on the Ring Road project saying it would receive additional Rs10 billion after depreciation of the rupee against the US dollar.
