Moving To Islamabad (From England)

@ nasar ullah kan sb…SIr if you want o bu a house a best price in bahria town and dha,i can buy you a one and you can contact me at 03455370978 for deals at dha and bahria.

My brother moved back to Pakistan from Silicon Valley. He lasted three years before going back. He had a dream of educating the masses and got research funding from California state with Nust where he was teaching. There was a jahil fauji sitting as the department head who made decisions with one atom of a brain cell.

That experience lasted 3 years before he packed his bags and moved back to the west. I do not mean to discourage you brother. I just want to emphasise that you plan properly.

  • If you have income coming from abroad you will be better settled here

  • Try to make a contact base with people that have local contacts and those that have spent time abroad. It will add a breath of fresh air to your social life.

  • Do not move to a far flung place or farmland. Move to a built up area where hopefully electricity issues and other amenities are available

  • Keep a low profit lest you get a letter in the mail from TTP

  • Finally start off with Bismillah and pray Tahajjud that your move is successful and Allah SWT makes it easier.

Go east!!!

Doctors has better future here in Pakistan. One has satisfaction that he/she is serving own people.

Few of close ones shifted back and are doctors. Very happy to get prayers of people despite problems.

But Brother Nasrullah, I dont think there is any good Islamic school here. All schools are westernized. I would advise not to expose your kids to Pskistani version of Islamic schools.

My brother's kids study in Islamic schools abroad. No comparison with so called Islamic schools in Pak. You will miss it surely. I tried a lot to find some good islamic school in Islamabad but couldn't.

I think the change delta for your kids should be minimized when you settle back. You being Pakistani would like it here but kids have to go through a rough ride here to settle in socially and with their possible low language skills etc. As time passes, you keep on changing them more aligned to Pakistani norms. E.g. If they are attending a western school in UK, I wont suggest putting them in a desi/islamic school right away. This move is 1 time event and you cant screw it. Otherwise once it fails, you wont come back forever.

Regards,

Lol… Let the man return. It’s not like he’s moving to hell. Pathetic blend of bbcd and narcissistic culture.

Narcissistic culture? Which one?

Lot of suggesstions have been given here and I trust all with sincerity.

Welcome back brothers Nasrulla and Zafar. I strongly disagree with brothers who are advising you re-considering your decision of returning back home. Pakistan is our HOME and we love it besides of all difficulties we face here. I moved back from abroad 3 years ago and believe me I never regret of the decision.

I suggest you come down to Islamabad for a few days before you finally move and visit the places yourself. You will then be able to make better decision. I suggest (1) Bahria Enclave Vertex Villas (2) G-13 30x60 house (3) Buy a 30x60 plot in G-14/1 and build a house. During construction you rent a 30x60 house in G-13 or G-14/1. If you decide to visit Islamabad prior to moving back, feel free to contact me and I can provide you contacts to take you around.

Thanks Malik Majeed sahab and the rest

This topic has turned into a different discussion which is not bad I suppose.

Returning to Pak could be a different experience for different people but those who long for going back to Pak, should try it as early as possible and IF things dont work out , they wont die alone in a hospital bed in the West , while still having this heartache of not returning HOME. At least give it a try and keep the doors open in case you need to go back.

I have a vast network of friends, mostly professionals moved from Pak in their early 20s and the fav topic is alway , how to return and when to return. Almost nobody that I know is entirely happy and satisfied. Its true that the grass is greener on the other side but the same applies to people who live in Pak and look at the greener pastures of the West.

If you have a certain level of social and economical level then nothing like Pakistan.

Lets hope and pray that Pakistan comes out of this mess , gradually so that going back to ones own home is not considered to be such a nightmare. On the other hand even when we did not have such grave issues like terrorism , load shedding etc people still had dreams of moving abroad at the earliest.

Agree with Zafar sahab … Nothing like Pakistan if you have financial stability.

Interesting discussion … Being oversees myself, I do not see this being a right or wrong decision to move back home. It is something that totally&totally depends on your individual circumstances. There was a time when it probably made all sense for Nasrrullah sb to be abroad and there is a time now where he has to make a choice based on his very personal and professional life… Now how this all works out in the end is a total different story. It works fine for some people while others have no choice and are forced to move back abroad. There is no doubt that Pakistan will always be home but living in Pakistan is tough and its a harsh reality (let’s be honest and face it) but this is life and there is always a give n take. Good Luck with your move.

Oh and your actual question … It appears that just like many other oversees Pakistani’s you are leaning towards Bahria projects for the reasons, we all know. In that case you have to make a choice between Bahria Enclave and Bahria Rawalpindi. Bahria Enclave is Islamabad but its new and will probably take a few years to have a decent population. Bahria Town is Rawalpindi but its fully developed and turn key (schools etc)… If you prefer proper Islamabad then as other members suggested G11,13,14 would be something to look into but obviously the price tag is high.

If load shedding is the a major factor ,scaring us into BE then consider this.

I understand that the extra bijli that you get, its at a premium ,more expensive than the regular srrkari bijli?

So if you are going to pay for it anyway and load shedding is the main concern then why not invest in your own 12-16 kv generator and live wheer you actually want to live, with more flexibility in choosing the area where you would like to live.

A good house maybe available but you will let it go as the area has lots of load shedding but if you invest in a good generator ?

Zafar Ullah - You have it spot on. Same discussion i have with my friends, especially since we got married and have children now. We reached the same conclusion, that if you are financially good and stable then move back to Pakistan.

Hy, I am yousaf presently living in Naval Anchorage Islamabad. Its a beautiful, peaceful gated community area being managed and administrated by the Housing Directorate of Pakistan Navy. You can visit the website of the housing society for taking any decision to purchase a plot or house in this area.for any help please do mail me on sl_yousaf11@yahoo.com

Hi Nusrulla, I am also Expat and have started my homework of coming back. I started my home work almsot 4 years back. After considering all the factor, only go to DHA. The main reasons.

  1. In DHA 2, every sector has ROOT and APS schools.

  2. Every sector has a market so ur fmaily can easily go and shope.

  3. Children can walk to schools.

  4. You can leave ur house locked ( you cannot imagine leaving ur house unattended in Isb).

  5. For long term, it has better chances then BT.

  6. The people are mostly from Defense background so you will feel good about it.

My opinion, only and only go for DHA 2.

Regards

Aftab

Salaam. I am very thankful to all you. Your opinions have really helped me make my mind. I have short listed the areas and and I am focusing on BT and DHA2.

As far as I know, BT has 2 advantages. Uninterrupted power supply and their own security arrangements (I am told) where their guards attend to all emergency calls. (Correct me if that info is not true).

many thanks

Dr Nasrullah Khan

Nasar ullah khan sb.Sir security of dha is superior due to the presence of army…Secondly if you want to grab good deals at dha and bahria, you can contact me anytime at 03455370978 for best deals.Security of bahria is no doubt also very good.

Saadi DHA is very expensive and out of reach of people … They have mostly 1 kanal and above 10 million. Right?

Dear Saadi sahib,

What about the power issue? This is the biggest problem nation facing for some time now

Nasruallah Sb also make sure DHA has levelled surface because they have odd and even surface…
