Moving To Islamabad (From England)

Apple I haven't heard good reviews about ACE academy in BT phase 2 not to mention how expensive it is.

Nasarullah Khan,

If you decide to settle in BT 1 - 6, you would have choice of schools either on PWD road or GT road as well as in Gulrez. All should be within 10-20 mins drive. Schools include all the top names as well as not so much known one.

I have been struggling to decide where I should go for living; Bahria Town/Enclave or DHA-2. Many people like Bahria Town because of given facilities and plus, no or minimum load-shedding. My family wants to go bahria because of facilities. But my heart is towards DHA-2. There are couple of reasons why i'm not preferring bahria.

(1) It is all because of malik riaz. Some people say that now he is not doing anything, all is done by BT management. Then who built Balawal house in BT-Lahore? Of course, it was malik riaz because of political interests. What will happen after malik riaz? All the retired generals, politicians are living in BT because of malik riaz. In contrary, DHA works as organization, no one knows who is DG/head of DHA but working good because of its organizational structure.

(2) How come Bahria can produce electricity?? If Bahria has generators then the only source to make electricity is fuel(diesel etc. Which is also used for rental powers), but it can be very costly to run for many hours for whole community. Last week, on Hasb-e-Haal, in Mukhbarian section, it was told that 2 small towns in Khanewal have no load-shedding because people living their give Rs2000 per month/per house to the electric company(which of course goes to higher management). In the result, the surrounding areas suffer more load-shedding hours. I believe that BT(malik riaz) has political influence and give money to the electric company like people doing in Khanewal. I don't have proof, in fact, no one get can the proof because it will jeopardize the BT reputation.

BT no doubt has good infrastructure, but what about ethical and social values ?

These were my thoughts, you all have right to disagree

Younus Sb, I heard that BT Rawalpindi have their own gensets of 12 MW generation capacity. These gensets are used during the power outages. The residents of BT get electricity on subsidized rates while the higher cost of generation is absorbed by BT.

Zafarullah sab,

I think one forum member Muhammad Imran gave very good option of I-8,

You should live in I-8 for 6 months by renting a house then you can easily find out which place is best to live in Islamabad.

Why i am in vafour of I-8, because of some reasons?

(1) I-8 is centre of Real Rawalpindi Islamabad.

(2) There are many good schools in H-8 education sector which is nabour of I-8.

(3) Shifa international Hospital located on doorstep of I-8.

(4) There are too big parks located in I-8.

(5) Pindi/Islamabad 2nd biggest inter city bus station Faizabad bus station located on door step of I-8.

(6) The ongoing Metrobus project is passing close to same sector.

(7) The most important thing the worth of your property will never drop it will constant increase because of its location.

(8) From I-8 you can opproach to any place of Pindi/islamabad with 360 degree in minutes.

Remember three golden words to buy a property, location, location and location.

There is no competition of location in property buisness.

ZONE-1 is the heart of Islamabad no other Zone can replace this zone in present and in future.

You will find best devolpement standard in Bahria,DHA or B-17 but Still CDA is dominating on Bahria,DHA,B-17 and others housings because of location.

I-8 or even I-9 could be good options. Personally visit both sectors and then decide urself...

Location wise both are good although prices in I-8 are on higher side.

In 20 M, you can get 30x60 to 35x70 size houses in I-9 depending upon location and condition of house.

Thanks

Dear Khan Sahab

DHA-2 is my choice

There is a news that Islamabad highway is going to be even fatter and funds have been released or going to be!

You have good schools, roots and army public and more are coming, and moreover you can have a built house 10 Marla in your budget. Nice parks, world trade center, nice Jacranda club, nice townships around, gated community, pure free drinking water, nice security, bus service from DHA to and from all entry gates, Nice and clean Masjids, prompt garbage collection.

Islamabad is good but what about the security? Just think of walking outside with family after say midnight?

Think of water shortage in Islamabad in peak summer and overflowing trash garbage skips all around?

In DHA-2, you can walk outside in all times and you will have motorcycle security looking after you but in an invisible way.

Just for once visit the Jacranda club and then have it compered with Islamabad club… Islamabad club will cost you a fortune.

Islamabad after Afghanis is good only for the VIP sectors. In G and I series sectors, they are everywhere with their filthy habits.. Sorry to say but I am talking of populace

And peace of mind as you are living in Defense

Very important decision is about the school you want to enroll your children in. I have seen numerous examples of kids going back to settle in Pakistan and gets admitted in a good school there but can's adjust. If your kids are attending a British school there then you have to pick an equivalent or better school. Schooling is not just about curriculum. ISOI (Islamabad international school) is best if you can afford as its very expensive (20,000 USD / year). Housing location needs to be sought out afterwards.

Regards,

Agree with younus sahab and Abdul Qayyum sahab regarding DHA-2 .

Although i personally have small investment in BT Phase 8, but i am always scared to invest more in BT overall due to one man show factor instead of organization.

If i have a choice between BT and DHA-2, I will definitely go with DHA-2 but there are limited 10 marla houses in DHA-2 so you will be lucky if you can get one good 10 marla house.

Many people has suggested to move to BT, since there is no load shedding of electricity.

What about DHA? Is there any extra measures\facilities by DHA for no load shedding, do they generate their own electricity as well?

I am also curious about BT & DHA Lahore, do they also experience load shedding?

First the guy asked about Isb so please stop feeding him DHA and BT which is Pindi and not Isb, both BE and DHA are good but not in the city he wants to live in, how difficult this is to understand ?.

second please dont give him ' muft mashwaras' about why not move to pakistan as this is horrible and all. He did not ask for that , he asked for a house

Zafar Ullah Sb it seems like you are abroad since a long time.. You will realise our concerns when you come back and spend a few months here. IA aap bhi aisi he muft mashwaray dengay.

Btw half DHA is in Islamabad (Zone 5) and with the new expressway, it wont be that hard to travel to and from main Islamabad.

Junaid bhai i understand but that is a matter of personal choice, I know several people who moved back and are happy and several others who did not like it there. But personally, I think we should not discourage people who have some personal, social and professional skills to come back to Pak. Life abroad is also not all roses as many Pakistanis back home imagine it.

I m not surprised at all those living in Pakistan and still cursing it…

People who r cursing must come out for Azaadi march :0)....BE will be named : Naya Bahria Enclave.

Naya Apple

Well said Apple bro (I mean Naya Apple)…

Apple, azadi march, naya BE, naya apple … What a fantastic idea!!

Salaam dear all,

I really value your thoughts and suggestions.

Some of friends ask/wonder why we are heading back to Pakistan. We know it is primarily zameen-matters website/forum but I hope you wont mind if I briefly share my reasons for our return to Pakistan.

There are 3 main reasons . 1. My parents are old and ill, they don't want to live with me in UK ( I understand it is difficult for them), and I am the only son !. 2. My kids are 9 n 7 yrs old and this age is considered to be the right age if one wants to move back. As a psychiatrist in UK for 10 years, I feel my kids shouldn't grow in this country. Living in Pakistan would help them develop true roots in this great country, the 'desi-punna, and a bit of paindoo-punna" ( I trust you all know what I mean). 3. The last but not least, I have a strong desire to take active part in the dream of making Naya Pakistan! I can't just sit in silence anymore while my country is burning.

Since I came to know that there is no loadshedding in BT, I am inclined towards that. I am checking prices in BT2 to see if we can buy a 3 bedroom house there in 20 M. I am reading reviews of their schools though. I am afraid of 'too liberals' schools too. Kaheen aasman say gira aur khajoor main atka na ho jaiay. Lets see. I will try to keep you updated.

regards

Nasrullah sb,

I really appreciate your enthusiasm and love for the country. If we all unite under one umbrella as 1 Ummah INSHALLAH that time is not so far away where we all can experience the peace, secure, and growing Pakistan.

Indeed you as an overseas setting an example for others to take active part at least just by your words and neyat (agar burai ko hath say nai rok saktay tu zuban say rukoo aur wo bhi nai kr saktay tu kam say kam dil mai zarur bura jano ).

Welcome back sir !

May ALLAH guide you and all to righteous path.

Those who live in Pakistan, doesn't understand that we have our own set of issues abroad.

Like Load shedding is an issue in Pakistan, our generations getting mix with gora culture and getting out of islam is real issue abroad. Yes you will have opportunity to make money and will have all facilities, but you will risk your kids for that and that is very very real issue abroad. So there are real trade offs.

Moreover, most of people in this forum thinks that if we are living abroad means we cannot face issues in Pakistan. Remember people who are born or raised abroad, they do not want to come back anyways, but people who were raised in Pak and went abroad in their 15 or 20's something are the one feel the pain and want to come back. They have played in same gali-muhalas as you do, they have lived and done all the things people in pakistan do, they can survive with little sacrifice.

Assalamo a laikum. EID Mubarik to all.

Glad to know you are coming back to Pakistan - whereas My Family and I are planning to move to UK :) and am therefore selling my personal house in G11 Islamabad. The house is of best location, front open near park, markaz and all facilities.
