Moving To Islamabad (From England)

Yes, Saadi what about power issue in DHA? do they generate their own electricity like BT?

Bahria doesnt have generator , they buy electricity from private power houses that's why it is expensive in Bahria. Bahria has his own Grid station.

DHA has nothing like that ....U shud be good at praying for rain or ur own UPS.

@ Apple..Sir he is looking for a 10 marla constructed house.Secondly this uneven surface clearly indicates that there is no filling at dha..thirdly both bt and dha are good options without any doubt. Now it all depends on him although i personally feel that investment in dha is secure than bahria(its my view point and anybody can disagree).

Nasr ullah sb..Sir solar panels are now being installed in houses in dha and yes bahria is providing uninterrupted supply which is a plus but i dont know how far they will manage it as it seems to me an impossible task to provide electricity like this forever. But then its again your choice as i can provide you deals at both places.

Thanks Saadi sahib,

You reply efficiently, in no time. Fab

Ok. So I think i should go for BT

Plz guide which sector is better than other? I would prefer the one which has good schools and more greener (after all we are coming back from England where it is lush green all around). What about BE? Are houses available in BE for 20 million?

many many thanks again

Sir bahria enclave is not recommended right now for living…Bahria phase 2,4 and phase 5 are excellent…May i do some working for you if you wan to buy a one??

D

Nasrullah Khan,

I was in a similar situation 2 years ago. I work in Islamabad and renting out in Bahria Phase 5. You will never regret living in Bahria if you are coming from England. Do not go for Bahria Enclave or other fancy farm houses, they are not liveable and you would run away back to England within 1 month!

I would suggest rent in Bahria, live for sometimes, see the rest of Islamabad, BE and other places people have suggested and then buy. Do not buy before coming and living here for some time.

Please take my words, you would not regret living in Bahria. The commuting of 30-40 minutes from one side daily is noting given the many many advantages.

@nasrullahniazi
Just been through the whole thread even though its old. Did you manage to move back and would love your thoughts on the whole process as family is considering the very same thing now.

best regards
Umer

Are you considering buying a plot or house once you move back?

Assalam Alaikum All,

Interesting topic and a lot to learn from for the overseas Pakistanis. I am also living in DXB, and the biggest challenge that the oversees face while in Pakistan is that the people of our beautiful green country run into a different system. So we have to adjust as per the system running in Pakistan unless the whole people decide to change the system per Europe standards? lolz.

Now the topic, this is among the primary concern of overseas where to buy a house since it is a big investment, I am also original from Islamabad but know nothing about this beautiful city  (born and brought up overseas)Most here say DHA… I believe DHA is better but I want to ask the readers

  1. Is DHA not far away from Central Islamabad? so what if a person has a regular commute to central Islamabad?
  2. Is it true that Islamabad is not safe because of the children of Beuracrats Mafias?

I will also second the other gentleman who mentions Better rent a house and stay for some months do a first-hand experience and survey then commit to buying. (I believe at least buy and sell in DHA is safe if done at their office)

Naeem dear,

Classical Islamabad (CDA sectors) is highly regimented where community is divided according to social classes into ‘sectors’.

Privileged classes (bureaucrats, top brass, diplomats and top business class) lives in D, E and F sectors, commoners in G and I sectors.

Then come non-CDA sectors, which is mixed bag. You’ll find every class in all these societies.

First you should come up with a checklist of preferences and a budget, then we can advise you where to focus.

Property transfer is completely secure and fool proof in almost all societies, so that should not be a concern.

NB. No bureaucrats kids are not that rouge and uncivilised that you should be concerned about.
