Islamabad: A zero tolerance policy is to be implemented against corruption in Pakistan Railways on the directive of Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, according to a news report. He spoke to the media on Thursday and affirmed that the financial state of the department would be thoroughly investigated and relevant action taken to remove all elements of corruption.
He further added that the Railways authorities have been directed to add cargo trains and integrate the latest technologies into the department’s operations. He also said that he would announce his plans to update 31 railway stations across the country. In addition, he urged people who had occupied railway land to vacate it right away or face the consequences.
