Quetta: The Quetta Development Authority (QDA)’s Zarghoon Housing Scheme finally achieved electrification on Tuesday (June 23), a news source reported. The society’s residents had long been demanding for the basic facility.
Zarghoon Housing Scheme was launched in 2011, and the plot allottees completed their payments to receive property possession in 2017. While the QDA completed work on setting up the society grid station in 2019, it took almost a year to initiate electricity supply.

With the electricity supply mechanism up and running, the QDA is now expected to begin work on the installation of streetlights. At the same time, work is still pending on laying a gas supply line, finishing the sewerage system, and installing a security system in the society.
Zarghoon Housing Scheme Welfare Association President Abdullah Kakar expressed his pleasure regarding the news that the society was finally getting an electricity supply, and further thanked the Quetta Electric Supply Company for allowing the development of a 32-KV grid station in the housing scheme.
