Lahore: Punjab Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed has said that Zameen.com’s expertise will be utilised in making the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) successful – a news source reported.

The minister shared these views with the media at the inauguration ceremony of Zameen Expo 2019 – Lahore in Johar Town on Saturday. Zameen.com CEO Zeeshan Ali Khan was also present at the occasion.

As per reports, developers of several housing schemes from around the country graced the event. The two-day expo attracted thousands of people looking to buy property in Pakistan. Commenting on the huge footfall, Zameen.com CEO said that people from around the globe are interested to invest in Pakistan due to the government’s positive policies.
Rasheed briefed the media on Lahore Development Authority (LDA) affairs. He informed that the restructuring process in LDA had begun, and that the development authority would complete its unfinished projects soon.
The minister stated that he considered the timely delivery of LDA projects vital to gaining public trust. He affirmed that the authority’s role was to regularise its related operations, and ensure implementation of the specified building bylaws.
The provincial minister also informed that the preparation of Lahore’s Master Plan 2040 is currently underway; with thorough consultation with the stakeholders being worked out. Rasheed said that the new master plan will be revealed next year.
Shedding light on effective construction practices, Rasheed indicated his resolve to pursue vertical expansion in Lahore. He mentioned starting a ‘flat system’ in the city, and also announced the development of new cities in the province.
