Islamabad: The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has sought support from top online selling national platforms involved in multiple e-commerce vendor categories in a bid to develop and declare principal aspects governing online e-commerce transactions and user activities, according to a news source.

These top online e-commerce platforms approached by CCP include Zameen.com and OLX. As per the official document shared, the commission will work with businesses to declare and develop e-commerce policy guidelines to encourage consumer confidence in the electronic marketplace and promote transparent trade measures to curb any abuse and misleading practices in the e-commerce domain.

The companies have been given a deadline of June 15 to submit their response. CCP Chairperson Ms Rahat Kaunain Hassan stated that effective communication and transparency will help e-commerce growth and buyers’ confidence.
Zameen.com is the top national real estate portal that has 25,000 registered real estate agencies, 30+ million listings, 2.5 million subscribers and 86,000 downloads for its mobile app.
As for Zameen.com’s sister concern OLX, the portal sold goods worth over 2.2 trillion in 2020 and was visited by 900,000+ Pakistanis per day. This is in addition to that fact that over 50,000+ ads are being posted on the portal each day.
