On 7th March, 2014, Sika Pakistan and Zameen.com held a training workshop in Islamabad to demonstrate the use of latest construction tools and chemicals. The purpose of this workshop was to help Pakistani labours increase their income by educating them about state of the art construction techniques.
Various applicators were invited to demonstrate the use of modern tools and chemicals used in construction sector. Demo sessions were held to enable the attendees to get practical experience of using modern construction techniques and tools. The event proved very valuable for the labours (mistris), as through this workshop they got a chance to get acquainted with modern techniques of construction, without paying any dime.
Pakistan holds the honor of having skilled workforce and various countries prefer to hire Pakistani masons because of their efficiency and skills. There is a need to train the workforce to hone their skills further and increase their work efficiency. Similarly, the labour force also needs to be educated about the modern techniques of construction.
Sika Pakistan aims to conduct similar events in other regions of the country. Zameen.com believes that such training workshops should be conducted from time to time in order to enable the labour force of our country to increase their income and also make them contribute effectively in the development of the country.
I agree that such workshops are much needed and will prove to be handy in future construction projects.
How did they choose the masons? Just random pick or through some sort of team? I would have preferred the randomly picked formula coz you get the real picture and of the mistris (Masons) skills and their willingness to adapt the new techniques.
N. Noor,
Masons were randomly picked and almost every Mason was asked about what problems they face or contractors ask them about and then they were provided with solutions.
