Pursuant to the details, this housing project, completed within just two and a half months by the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and the Ministry of Housing, is part of a broader effort to address housing challenges in Punjab. The initiative aims to ensure transparency and merit in the allocation process, with a comprehensive system of checks and balances in place. Families who have received homes expressed gratitude, noting that the scheme has fulfilled their dream of owning a house.
A larger housing vision is also underway, with plans to construct 100,000 homes across Punjab within the next year. Under this initiative, families can access interest-free loans of up to RPKR 1.5 million to secure houses ranging from one to 10 marla. Loan recipients will repay the amount in manageable instalments over seven years without any additional financial burden.
The scheme’s focus on affordability and accessibility is further demonstrated by its “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” program, which has already facilitated the constructing of thousands of houses in 37 districts. Some houses are nearing completion, and others are in the advanced stages of development.

Additionally, furniture will be gifted to the first five households under this program. Looking ahead, a new initiative is set to provide free residential plots to deserving individuals, allowing them to build their own homes. The program envisions the distribution of three-marla plots to thousands of families.
