Narowal: A recreational park covering seven acres on Narowal-Zafarwal Roads will be completed by June next year, a news source reported. The park, located 2 KM away from Dhamthal Town of Zafarwal tehsil, is being completed at a cost of PKR 40 million.
Sources privy to the development said the sports and family park would benefit residents of 175 villages after its completion. The district council had purchased the land in 2017 and started the constructed work around the same time.
The park would comprise cricket, football, and hockey grounds, as well as courts for tennis, badminton, basketball and volleyball. An outdoor gymnasium and a jogging track would also be constructed at the park, besides installation of swings for children and a food court for families.
District Council Chairman Ahmad Iqbal said that the decision to build the park was taken because people of Zafarwal tehsil and its 175 villages had no recreational facilities.
