Karachi: Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Yutong Bus Country Manager Paul Zhang discussed establishing a public transport manufacturing plant in the province, according to news published on July 15.

As per the details, the Chinese company – Yutong Bus – will set up a manufacturing plant either in Karachi or Hyderabad. The attendees were informed that the said plant will be established on 15 to 18 acres of land. During the meeting, it was decided to prepare a comprehensive proposal by next week for setting up a manufacturing plant.
The transport minister mentioned that the department is trying its best to attract foreign investment for setting up the plant. He went on to say that this will help in improving the public transport sector and generate employment opportunities.

The meeting was attended by Sindh Mass Transit Authority Managing Director Capt (retd) Altaf Hussain Sario, Transport Secretary Abdul Haleem Sheikh, and National Radio & Telecommunication Corporation Project Director Sohaib Shafiq.
