Peshawar: The Water & Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) has intimated continuing with its coronavirus awareness campaign in the city, a news source reported. As per the publication, the civic body is committed to carry on its chlorination and spray-disinfection efforts across the provincial capital.

The WSSP has been conducting a coronavirus awareness campaign on a daily basis with the help of prayer leaders and ulema in areas within its jurisdiction. The campaign is aimed at teaching the public about adopting preventative measures against the coronavirus infection.
So far, prayer leaders of 300 mosques in the city have provided awareness to people residing in their vicinity. The outreach team of the WSSP also provide awareness messages through loudspeakers to the public on a daily basis. These messages include convincing people on the implementation of the safety measures and staying at home.

These teams also distribute brochures among people to protect themselves against the virus. The members further inform the departments concerned about complaints regarding the fumigation spray drive.
The WSSP has continued its fumigation drive for the past three weeks. It has already completed two rounds of the spray drive while the third round is currently underway. As part of its coronavirus awareness campaign, the authority has also established 100 hand-washing points across the city for people going out to buy essential items.

The civic body is also setting up walkthrough gates at trade centres in Peshawar to disinfect people visiting these areas. Meanwhile, the preparations for the project to develop gates for fumigation of all vehicles entering the city is also in its last stages. Source:
