Peshawar: The Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) and Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) recently oversaw a decontamination and disinfection drive throughout the city, according to news sources.

Director General PDA Zafar Ali Shah and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) WSSP said that they were taking proactive and aggressive steps in a bid to control the COVID-19 pandemic. This disinfection operation was led by the CEO WSSP and Secretary Local Government Elections and Rural Development Department Shakeel Ahmad Mian. They disinfected both sides of University Road, along with all building fronts along the major roads of the city.

The city administration has been chlorinating localities that fall under their jurisdiction. Over a dozen firefighting trucks, tankers, bowsers and fumigation vehicles took part in the operation. In addition, the WSSP has announced its intentions to execute the disinfection drive in rural union councils as well.
