Gilgit: The world’s highest cricket stadium – Pissan Cricket Stadium – located in the Nagar Valley of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) has been inaugurated, according to news published on October 8.

The Pissan Stadium is situated at an elevation of 8,500 feet above sea level, providing excellent weather conditions to play cricket during summer. As per the details, the local political leadership inaugurated the stadium. It was mentioned that a 3-kilometre-long road for the stadium has been constructed. The news source mentioned that the teams from Diamer and Nagar played the first match at the stadium.

GB Chief Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani stated that the GB government aims to promote the culture of the stadium to boost local cricketing talent. The government wants to promote the tourist potential of the region which will bring economic activity and employment opportunities.
