Islamabad: Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) arranged a World Water Day in Pakistan, according to a news source. This was done in collaboration with various other international organisations such as United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), amongst various others, got together to highlight the importance of water management for a healthy ecosystem.
All parties present discussed the importance of water conservation and the various issues they were facing. All present decision-makers, water experts, students, institutions, community members and pupils stressed the importance for maintaining sustainable water management system. The earth only has a 2.5% of water available as a fresh resource and the need to effectively manage it was highlighted at the event.
