Islamabad: During a meeting between Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and a delegation of the World Tourism Forum earlier this month, it was decided that the country would host the World Tourism Forum 2020, a news source reported.

The Istanbul-based forum works for the promotion of sustainable tourism around the globe. The event planned for 2020 would take place over five days in Islamabad and is expected to be attended by more than 1,000 foreigners.
At the meeting, the PM stated that his government was taking several steps for the promotion of tourism across the country. Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Chairman Syed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari, who was also in attendance at the meeting, briefed the delegation about some of these efforts.

Khan added that eight new tourist resorts were being constructed at eight costal location in Balochistan. Similarly, the government had also introduced a new visa policy for 175 countries earlier this year. Under this initiative, travellers can now apply for their visa online.
