Lahore: The World Crime Index by Numbeo, a popular online crime ranking portal, has ranked Lahore to be one of the least racist cities across the globe — as per its latest statistical report published this month. The city’s stats identify the risk level as ‘very low’ at a meagre 14.91% for the category ‘worry about being subject to a physical attack because of skin colour, ethnic origin or religion’.

The threat level recorded by the website for various crimes is categorised as low; including those for potential breaking and entering at 34.88%, potential car theft at 40.24% and potential of being attacked at 23.95%. The index also states that Lahore is 78.57% safe while walking alone during the day, which is categorised as ‘high’ and safety while walking alone at night comes at 56.70%, which is ‘moderate’. The overall level of crime in the city amounted to about 37.35% at the end of November.

Lahore has been ranked safer than many other major cities of the world – including London, Washington, Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, and Istanbul on this index. It achieved the rank of number 174 during the mid of November.
