Karachi: The World Bank (WB) will provide a Fund of USD 135 million for Sindh Livestock and Aquaculture Development Project, as reported by the news source by May7.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs 38,386 million with World Bank major funding source of PKR 37800 million (USD 135 million), while the remaining will be paid by the government of Sindh USD 2 million along with farmer’s share of USD 10 million. The completion period of the project is five years and six months, (July 2024 to December 2029).

The Sindh Livestock and Aquaculture Development Project has already sailed through the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) and will be presented to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for approval. The project aims to enhance the competitiveness, inclusivity, climate resilience, and sustainability of the livestock and aquaculture sectors in Sindh.
