Karachi: The World Bank has agreed to offer financial and technical assistance for the Yellow Line Busway of the Karachi Metro Bus Project, according to a news source. The World Bank will also extend technical support for the establishment of an integrated Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system for the city.
According to details, the agreement was finalised during a meeting held between Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and World Bank Country Director Patchamuthu Illangovan. In this meeting, the World Bank’s portfolio was reviewed, under which 12 different projects are in progress, amounting to PKR 163.35 billion.
The more prominent of these projects include Sindh Agricultural Growth Project, the Karachi Neighbourhood Improvement Project, Sindh Public Sector Management Reform, Skill Development Project, Sindh Resilience Project, Sindh Water Sector Improvement Project, and the Sindh Barrage Improvement Project.
