Peshawar: The World Bank (WB) completes technical reviews of the Pakistan Community Support Project (PCSP), which included field visits and discussions on project progress, according to news published on June 19.

The World Bank delegation engaged in week-long activities and consultations with the PCSP Project Management Unit led by Project Director Shakeel Ahmed, and the Project Implementation Units. The delegation visited various completed community infrastructure sub-projects in the project target areas of Landi Kotal, Badaber, and Jalozai. They also interacted with the beneficiaries of these development initiatives, as stated in a press release on Sunday.
The technical review commenced with a component-wise progress update of the PCSP. It was reported that civil works on the 165 approved community infrastructure sub-projects were progressing swiftly, with 50 sub-projects already completed in the three PCSP districts.
Upon completion, the approved community infrastructure sub-projects, with a total cost of PKR 1,372 million, will benefit approximately 548,752 individuals in the project target areas. It was further revealed that 83 sub-projects will be completed by the end of June 2023, while the remaining 165 sub-projects are expected to be achieved by September 2023.

During the field component of the technical review mission, the World Bank delegation visited completed goodwill schemes such as government girls’ primary schools and basic health units in Badaber, Peshawar, and Landi Kotal, Khyber. They also inspected community infrastructure sub-projects like farm-to-market roads, street pavements, and water supply schemes in Jalozai, Nowshera.
