Multan: South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) retired Capt Saqib Zafar said here on Monday (September 13) that work on the PKR 1.93 billion South Punjab Secretariat will be accelerated to finish on time, news sources reported. He stated that the project is being closely monitored by the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab and that a weekly meeting to review progress will be held.

The Chief Minister’s Office will be built as part of the project. Mr Zafar went on to say that the project also included the building of the chief minister’s office, as well as offices for the ACS, the additional Inspector General (IG) of police, and the secretaries of 15 departments.

The project is expected to be complete by August 2023. This project will cost PKR 2.4 billion and will span 404 kanal on Mattital Road. So far, the government has provided PKR 1.95 billion for the project.
