Karachi: The Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Murad Ali Shah has said that Malir Expressway will be a short route connecting Motorway to Karachi city, a news source reported. The work on the expressway will begin next year. He was speaking to a meeting on the review of Malir Expressway project.
The meeting was also attended by the provincial minister Saeed Ghani, Planning & Development Chairman Muhammad Waseem, Sajid Jamal Abroo, and others. The CM said that 30% of the project will be funded by Sindh government, another 30% will be generated through Public-Private Equity, and the remaining 40% will be obtained through loans from banks.

The work on project will begin in July, 2019 and will be completed in three years. Malir Expressway will be a six-lane divided highway which will be constructed from the shore of Malir canal. The project will begin from PT Interchange of Project Qayyumabad, and will end at Motorway M-9 near DHA Phase IX.
