Karachi: Development work on the expansion of Karachi Expo Centre project has been initiated, according to a new source. Marking the formal initiation of the project, the foundation stone of a 21-storey high IT tower was laid by the Secretary Commerce Younus Dagha.
Under the expansion plan, six halls in the expo centre will be demolished and replaced with nine modern halls, a convention centre, and offices of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan. Funds worth up to PKR 8 billion for the project will be extended by the Public Sector Development Programme. The project design has been prepared by the National Engineering Services Pakistan, while the expansion work will be completed in five years.
