Kohat: Authorities concerned have been asked to chalk out a fresh plan for the construction of Faraz Park, which has been halted since 2014, a news source reported. Assistant Commissioner Abdur Rehman chaired a meeting in this regard during which he directed officials concerned to issue a new tender and hire an experienced contractor.
Former governor Barrister Masud Kausar had pledged PKR 20 million for the said park in 2013. An initial grant of PKR 6 million was released, but the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) was unable to complete the task in due time.
The then government later increased the grant to PKR 60 million after the administration acquired 230 kanals of land in Jarma on University Road to cater to the growing population.
The construction requires hectic efforts, more capital and experienced individuals as the park’s approved location is behind a mountain which is difficult to dig.
