Faisalabad: Faisalabad Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Sohail Khawajah has said that the development work of the Kashmir Underpass will continue amid the pandemic – with the site labourers being required to follow a number of safety protocols to guard against infection, a news source reported.

The project is being completed on a priority basis to help ease the area’s traffic congestion issues, he said.
The commissioner also paid a visit to the project site to inspect the ongoing work pace at different sections of the underpass – saying that it would be impacted due to the coronavirus lockdown currently in effect, as well as the workers’ requirement to follow the communicated safety protocols.

‘Development work is being carried out in a manner that is in accordance with the communicated protocols to contain the infection’, he said.
As per the information shared by the commissioner, the project site is being sprayed for disinfection purposes. Furthermore, hand wash stations have been set up in the vicinity where workers are required to clean their hands regularly – while the staff has also received masks and gloves.
He instructed the project manager to utilise all available resources to complete the project on time.
