Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Housing Secretary Daud Khan has announced the provincial government’s decision to commence with the development work on the Sarozai Housing Scheme from June onward, a news source reported. He further stated that the initiative would be launched in Peshawar under the federal government’s Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP).

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) Managing Director (MD) Tariq Rashid. Provincial Housing Authority (KPK) Director General Imran Wazir, along with other officials concerned, also attended the meeting.
What is Sarozai Housing Scheme?
Under the NPHP initiative, the Sarozai Housing Scheme is aimed at providing affordable housing for Pakistanis.
The participants discussed the overall progress on the Sarozai Housing Scheme. They were briefed that the membership drive for the housing scheme would begin from March 15 onwards. Under the project, the KP Housing Department and the Pakistan Housing Authority would collaborate to construct 16,000 houses in the city.
Further, a 10-kilometre dual carriageway road would also be constructed from the main road to the housing scheme. Imran Wazir also revealed that the hiring of a consultant for the Sarozai Housing scheme was in final stages, while the project’s planning and design would be completed in April.
