Karachi: Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the Planning and Development Department to expedite work on the ongoing uplift projects in the city, according to news published on May 29.

The CM issued the directives while chairing a meeting to review the progress of ongoing development schemes and health projects. The meeting was attended by CM’s Principal Secretary Fayaz Jatoi, Health Secretary Zulfikar Shah, Works and Services Secretary Imran Atta Soomro, Special Secretary to CM Rahim Shaikh, Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, Finance Secretary Sajid Jamal Abro, and other concerned officials.
During the meeting, CM Shah was informed that the Planning and Development Department has approved 16 projects while 23 projects are under approval process. It was also disclosed that PC-1 of 25 projects was under process.

Moreover, the CM asked the Works and Services Department to speed up work on 36 ongoing schemes of the health department and complete them by June 2022. The CM was informed that 171 projects related to the health sector have been launched, at a total cost of PKR 18.4 billion. It was mentioned that 75 projects were new ones while work on 96 projects is already underway.
