Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Capital Development Authority (CDA) Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan on Sunday (October 31) announced that construction work on the Bhara Kahu bypass will start soon, according to media reports.

The special assistant disclosed that the project is expected to be completed within two years. Sharing details about the project, the 7.8-kilometres bypass is a part of Margalla Road and will start from Quaid-e-Azam University and pass-through state land to be merged with Murree Road near Satra Meel.
Moreover, Planning Minister Asad Umar mentioned that the work Ghazi Barotha water project will start within six months. According to details, the project is designed to provide 100-Million-Gallon Daily (MGD) water to Islamabad and Rawalpindi. He went on to say that the incumbent government has launched massive development work in Islamabad to end the urban-rural divide.

By December, the residents of Islamabad will have health cards to avail free health facilities. Additionally, four new colleges and a 200-bed hospital will be established in the city.
