Following the federal government’s decision to grant contracts to government organisations without floating tenders, CDA opted to acquire these road projects. Both projects will be carried out by the Ministry of Defence’s Frontier Works Organisation (FWO). The National Logistics Cell (NLC) was the other organisation in talks to execute the project
The 7th Avenue Interchange, in Aabpara, will be built at a cost of PKR 1.5 billion at the junction of 7th Avenue and the Srinagar Highway. As the project is in a sensitive area, CDA decided to collaborate with FWO to speed up completion. The interchange will assist in the alleviation of traffic congestion.
More information has been released, including the fact that it would be a cloverleaf interchange with four right and left loops at the intersection of 7th Avenue, Garden Avenue, the Srinagar Highway, and Khayaban-i-Soharwardi. In addition, an underpass will be built to connect both sections of Khayaban-i-Soharwardi.
