Islamabad: The Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice on Thursday approved the Women’s Property Rights Bill 2021, according to media news.

Senator Syed Ali Zafar presided over the meeting, which was held in Parliament House. Minister of Law and Justice Farogh Naseem and other ministry officials were present at the meeting.
During the meeting, Law and Justice Secretary Raja Naeem Akbar addressed the Ministry of Law and Justice’s operations and performance. The conference also reviewed the work of administrative tribunals and special courts.

Furthermore, the secretary stated that the experiment of appointment of judges through the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) was not successful. Senator Syed Ali Zafar remarked that the appointment procedure of judges is critical and should be reviewed. According to Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, the appointment of judges is not acceptable unless the chief justice is consulted.
