Islamabad: With the existing and expected rise in demand for skilled manpower in the country for projects initiated under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the Government of Pakistan has decided to set up 400 vocational training institutes, reported a news source. These institutes will be set up on a cost-sharing basis with provincial governments.
These institutes will help reduce the gap between supply and demand of technically skilled labour need for CPEC projects. It is expected that these institutes will focus on creating specialists from the construction sector as the official listing in the proposal for development projects reinforced that infrastructural development can attract foreign investment in the country and reduce the cost of carrying out related business activities.
It was also mentioned that 62% of the total budget for development projects has been reserved for infrastructural development in the country.
