Lakki Marwat: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department has set up an animal quarantine facility in the Crane Conservation Centre and Wildlife Park along the Indus Highway near the Kurram River, according to a news report. According to officials, the department will use this facility to quarantine birds and animals transported to the area or retrieved from smugglers.

Bannu Division Commissioner Shaukat Ali Yousafzai inaugurated the facility, along with a solar-powered tubewell. Commissioner Yousafzai, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Abdul Haseeb, also inspected the bird and animal enclosures.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Rehmatullah Khan and park official Abdul Rehman briefed the commissioner about the features of the park. Yousafzai reiterated that this park was an important recreational centre for the province and that the government should allocate funds for its development.
