Well, nothing much, which is the point of this post. Launched almost 5 years ago, DHA City has become a massive headache for its investors, as they are clueless about its status. Even the location of the project has not been announced officially, but its plot files are still being traded in the market. I will discuss file prices later in this post.
Rumours abound in the market about this project. Some say that the DHA will acquire Park View Villas, an embattled housing project on Multan Road, and merge it with DHA City to provide access to the project, but the DHA has not given its official version on this yet.
According to sources, the most likely location for DHA City is at the back of Park View Villas. If Park View Villas is merged with DHA City, the latter will get direct access from Multan Road. Otherwise, people will have to use M2-Motorway to access the locality, which doesn’t seem to be a feasible idea. Another rumour: a road will be built from Multan Road alongside M2-Motorway to provide direct access to DHA City, but that’s all conjecture.
A real estate agent who requested not to be named told Zameen.com that the DHA will most probably announce the location of the project this month. He also said that the project will be completed within 3 years. A tall claim indeed, given that even the project’s location is not yet known. Once again, only an official announcement from the DHA in this regard will clarify the situation.
Let’s talk about prices in the locality.
DHA City features plot files of 5 marlas, 10 marlas and 1 kanal. Please see the table below to get an idea of the current market prices.

Our Take
Considering the fact that Park View Housing Society has been acquired by the DHA and merged with DHA Phase VIII in the past, there is some possibility that Park View Villas may also be acquired. I personally believe that the acquisition will be in favour of the project as well as its investors. If the DHA were to announce this acquisition, file prices would increase and investor confidence would spike immediately.
I even tried to reach DHA City’s law officer to get an insight into the DHA’s plans about the project, but to no avail.
That is all about DHA City for the day. I suggest you do not take any investment decision on the basis of mere rumours, so better wait for an announcement from the DHA, which could come sooner rather than later. You never know!

Thanks for selecting a sour topic but I wish you could have done a bit of research before picking up the pen. The booking price you quoted are wrong and there were two kind of bookings one thorough balloting and other was confirm booking. For one canal plot, people paid 3,760,000 rupees by balloting and those who went for confirmed booking paid one million more. Your quoted booking prices are incorrect.
Currently DHA city has all odds against it.
This was joint venture project with Orange Holdings (Eden Homes). DHA name was to be used to lure people to pay such a high price at that time. Money was collected and given to Eden homes for the project while dha keeping their administrative costs etc. Orange holdings have to acquire land, develop and provide plots to allottees as well as soldiers as well. Mr Hammad Arshad of Orange Holdings taken the money and acquired some cheap land which is on the river bank in Shahpur and Kanjran villages. Land is in patches and less than the project need. Rest of the money was swindled by Hammad Arshad and project was not further developed. For this case is in NAB as part of Mega Scandals reported to supreme court as well.
Park view villas is an illegal scheme having not approval from LDA and is easy to acquire for DHA to form up the deficient land but DHA have not shown such intention yet but some dealers and investor are bracketing these two since a long time to gain immediate returns of their investment in Park view.
There are two other issues which are hurting DHA City. Being close to river DHA city need flood protection which is being sought through construction of Lahore ring road Western Loop. This part of ring road is under planning and has no priority from government of punjab. The most biggest and fatal one is Punjab govt has planned River Front Development in the area and have banned all land transfers. Because DHA City does not have necessary approval yet and govt plan can take priority. If happens so then DHA have to accommodate the affectees elsewhere.
Yes more than five years have been lapsed which is positive for new investors. DHA has taken over this project to fix it. According to public relations officer these issues are being addressed and balloting is aimed towards end of 2017 subject to issues resolved. This can be earlier and late due to delay in resolving the issues.
Imran Koukab is public relations officer who sits behind Major Irfan’s office (DHA City Transfer officer) in DHA City. If you approach him for detail information, i think you will get a better response.

When you used word embattled for Park View Villas did that mean that they are still battling with some issues with authorities ? What is your opinion about investing in Park View Gold Block -(On installments) ? or Buying a DHA file from market will be safer option?

‘Embattled’ did not mean that the society is facing some issues. I have a friend who invested in Gold Block recently. He didn’t point out any issues. And I think, this block is a considerable option for investment.
DHA City Lahore, on the other hand, is making headlines these days as NAB has started investigation against the PKR 15 billion scam in the locality. Let this settle down and then take some decision to invest here.

We booked a home in Edenabad, back in 2008 (for 2.5 mil) and made payments upto 2 mil by 2009.
later we realized the SCAM ( Delays, no work on construction etc. and false hopes to its customers).
Luckily we were able to get our money back. I now want to invest some one mil. amount. please guide it would be wise to invest in DHA City, or any other sociaty you suggest.

I visited Eden Abad and found the development work unsatisfactory. Good that, you have got your money back.
DHA City Lahore is making headlines these days, as you would know that NAB has started investigating the prevailing issues of the society.
If you will invest here right now, you will be able to get a file at an attractive price. I think NAB’s action against those involved in the land scam in DHA City will prove to be favourable for the society. But I still believe, it is a long-term project.

DHA City Lahore has today ( 9th Jan 2016) advertised in National Press that it has approached NAB for recovery of funds collected by Globaco (Pvt) Ltd ( Now Orange Holdings Pvt Ltd) an off shoot of Eden (Pvt) Ltd from Public at large.
Zameen Media (Pvt) Ltd is therefore requested to disseminate this fresh information to all its readers and recant its advice of long term investment in light of this new information .
DHA is look like don’t care any more for his investors. If you look around many schemes I am victim of Islamabad DHA phase-2 extension more than 10 years similar situation no plot on ground and nobody knows when. DHA-9 my friend invested 10 plus year nothing yet. Complete exploitation of poor investor by our respected organization DHA. No use of complaint against them but Rahil shreef zindabad knowing everything but doing nothing but a media hero.
The COAS is really playing his role very well. He recently directed the NAB Chairmain to take an unbiased action against all those involved in the DHA Valley scam.
