Islamabad: China has decided to launch several welfare projects, such as those concerned with healthcare and labour support, under the multi-billion economic corridor (CPEC) initiative – a news source reported.

To facilitate this end, Chinese officials will devise a comprehensive policy framework mechanism. They will also conduct a survey of all of Pakistan’s four provinces to this effect.
Under phase one, these projects will be developed along CPEC’s transit route that lies between Gilgit and Mansehra. Similarly, development work will be carried out on the route from Mansehra to Islamabad.
It is pertinent to mention that China plans to extend these projects all the way to Gwadar, which is a focal point of the CPEC initiative.

Chinese Ambassador Le Yucheng said that Beijing acknowledges Pakistan’s importance as a key South Asian country. He added that Islamabad has extended every possible support to China.
