Islamabad: The government has set up a web portal facility to help Pakistanis stranded abroad to view important flight information, a news source reported. These individuals have been directed to visit covid.gov.pk and use the portal feature under the air travel section for viewing flight schedules and other details.

Initially, the government had established the website to provide updates about the coronavirus situation across Pakistan. The website features a counter that updates number of COVID-19 cases and casualties throughout the day.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (PM) on National Security Dr Moeed Yusaf stated that the web portal also provides information on the government’s policies aimed at controlling COVID-19 spread, how the quarantine works, criteria pertaining to stranded passengers, and flights planned to bring them back.
According to reports, the government aims to bring back Pakistanis stuck abroad amid the pandemic soon. These individuals have been stranded in various countries after Pakistan stopped flight operations to control the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The country will remain under lockdown till April 30 – after which flight operations are expected to resume.
