Rawalpindi: To facilitate the restoration of historical sites in Rawalpindi, Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) Director General (DG) Kamran Lashari is expected to provide guidelines to the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), a news source reported. The information was shared by RDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza during a meeting held to discuss various rehabilitation projects planned for the city.

The meeting was also attended by the WCLA DG who holds certain expertise in restoring old buildings to original galore. The meeting members held a detailed discussion on rehabilitating various important sites in the city and decided that details of all these buildings will be shared with DG Lashari who will share a guideline on their restoration.

According to the RDA chairman, Rawalpindi is home to many sites that are sacred to Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims. Restoration of these buildings will help promote tourism in the city. WCLA DG agreed that the project to restore historical sites in the city was of tremendous importance for promoting the local tourism sector.
