Lahore: The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) recently proposed the development of a five-star hotel on the location currently occupied by the Rim Market on the city’s Circular Road – according to news story published today (September 17). The authority is also deliberating on shifting the said market to a different location.

The proposal was submitted to Deputy Commissioner Lahore Danish Afzal. The authority has also prepared a working paper for the purpose.
According to the details available, the WCLA is expected to construct the five-star hotel and an underground parking lot at a cost of PKR 2 billion. The entire project is estimated to cost PKR 2.5 billion, which includes the cost of transferring Rim Market’s 328 shops to a new location and the proposed reopening of the Akbari Gate of the Lahore Fort.

The WCLA has already issued a letter to the city’s deputy commissioner containing suggestions regarding the alternate locations for the Rim Market.

actually i am doing my architecture thesis a hotel project in which i wanted to take a site near walled city. For that i wanted to know about the exact details about the proposed site and scale of the project proposed.
