Lahore: The Walton Cantonment Board (WCB) has finalised its cleanliness arrangements for the city’s cantonment area for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha holidays, a news source reported. These measures include the distribution of shopping bags among the residents for collecting waste following the sacrificial practices.

WCB Chief Sanitary Inspector Asif Mehmood Bhatti stated that they would distribute large shopping bags among every household situated in the locality for the disposal of offal. He added that the WCB would also provide the water tanks to help clean the roads during the holidays.
Bhatti revealed that the authority would appoint 1,187 of its staff members for performing these duties from 8am to 8pm during all three days of Eid. He added that the WCB had provided its staff with around 158 vehicles; including loaders, pick-ups, and dumpers.

The WCB chief also stated that the sector 1 and 2 comprised of Commercial Market and Masjid Chowk DHA-T. He revealed that they had established complaint cells of sectors 2 to 4, TT Block, and Y Block in College Road Nishat Colony, opposite the Shezan Bakery.
