Lahore: Several officials of the World Bank (WB) recently visited the offices of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to review the strategies devised by the Punjab government for the promotion of its ease-of-doing-business initiative for investors, according to news sources.
LDA Director General (DG) Sumair Ahmad Syed met with the delegation and discussed the civic agency’s unified land records management system project. According to the official, this system would keep an efficient inventory of public land through interlinked maps and standardised land records to make it easier for investors to operate.
The DG LDA also revealed that the process to computerise the plot ownership record of four localities in Lahore had been completed. These schemes include Gulberg, Mustafa Town, Avenue-1 and Jubilee Town. He told the WB delegation that property transfers in the said schemes were already being done through an online system. The computerisation of other schemes is currently underway, he added.
