Lahore: Officials from the World Bank and an international panels of experts have expressed satisfaction over the completion of the 4th Tarbela extension project, a news source reported. They also lauded the effectiveness of the project’s operation.

The delegation expressed the said vies during a meeting with the Pakistan Water & Power Development Authority Chairman Muzammil Hussain. The meeting followed the experts’ four-day visit to the project’s site.
The Tarbela 4th extension is responsible for 1,410 megawatts of power. The project was commissioned in a phased manner in 2018.
Reviewing the operation of the project, the panel appreciated the different components of the extension. The components praised included civil works and electro-mechanical equipment.

The delegation observed that the Tarbela 4th extension is working according to the designed specifications. They particularly lauded that the turbine actually had an efficiency level more than what was recorded during model testing.
