Faisalabad: The World Bank (WB) delegation of four members visited Faisalabad to review the different water management schemes under the Punjab Resilient and Inclusive Agriculture Transformation (PRIAT) Project, according to news published on June 20.

The four-member team consisting; Maha Ahmed, Dr Guo Li, John Saint, and Glivier Durand visited the various water management schemes that included on-farm water storage facilities, watercourses improvement, high-efficiency irrigation system, laser land-levelling, installation of solar system, and value chain system.

During the visit, the WB delegation was informed that the main objective of PRIAT is to improve on-farm water productivity and the income of farmers in the proposed sub-project areas. The delegation was notified that the entire province will be covered under the project. Moreover, it was disclosed that the main beneficiaries of the project are the small farmers and rural households as the agricultural growth will be improved. The said project will focus more on South Punjab as it is the under-served region in the province.
