Rawalpindi: The World Bank (WB) will fund the rehabilitation of a 100-year-old road track that connects Murree, Kotili Satian and Kahuta — a news source reported on Sunday (July 12). The 25-kilometre-long road is primarily being developed to promote tourism in the area.

The track had initially been constructed during the British-era for the passage of ponies and horses. Now it will be expanded in order to serve as a proper road connecting the three tehsils of Rawalpindi. Five kilometres of new road will also be added to the existing track, and several British-era rest houses in the area will be opened to the public as well.
The road will begin from Panj Peer Mountain, and will interlink New Murree, Murree and Kotlia Satian. Currently it is a 10-foot track, which will be expanded to 20-feet.
