Karachi: The water supply was disrupted in a number of localities of the metropolis recently after the water line in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area became damaged, a news source reported.
The 84-inch line had burst on Monday, when the Karachi Electric’s (KE) staff had started digging to lay underground cables.

According to a Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) spokesman, partial disruptions had been caused in the supply of water to the area. He explained that KE staff had been digging near the KE grid station in Gulshan-e-Iqbal’s Block 19 when the 84-inch line was struck.
KWSB staff reached the area soon afterwards, and cut off the water supply to the damaged line. The staff has been working to repair the damage, and the supply is expected to resume by the end of Tuesday.
KWSB Managing Director Asadullah Khan advised the people of the neighbourhood to use water sparingly during this period.
