Islamabad: The federal capital is facing a severe water shortage as a result of low rains, a news source reported. The water supply has decreased by 65%. CDA sources stated that over the past two months, the water supply in Islamabad had already decreased by 50%, but due to further shortage, now it has been reduced even more.
Currently, Islamabad’s demand is 120 Million Gallons per Day (MGD), however, only 50 MGD is being supplied. Out of those 50, 19 MGD is being taken from Simli Dam, while another 8 MGD is being obtained through Khanpur Dam.
