Lahore: The Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Usman Buzdar has rejected the recommendation to raise water prices for residential consumers, a news source reported. At the same time, the CM approved the recommendation for charging the bottled-water companies for water.
The CM also directed the relevant officials of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to disconnect all illegal connections and allowed 45 days for the purpose. It was also decided that service stations will be allowed time to install water recycling plants.
The officials were directed to form LDA’s legal, finance and human resource committees and also ordered that LDA’s Sahulat Centres be established in Nankana, Sheikhupura and Kasur. This will save the residents of the city a trip to Lahore every time they need resolution of their issues.
He also expressed his reservations at the budgets of LDA, Water and Sanitation Agency, and Traffic Engineering & Planning Agency.
