Islamabad: Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) recently rehabilitated three water filtration plants in Islamabad’s G-10/4, G-9/1, and G-7 sectors, a news source reported. According to details, the plants were rehabilitated to resolve the issue of clean drinking water scarcity in the said sectors of the capital city. MPCL rehabilitated the three filtration plants at the total cost of PKR 4 million.

Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Ansar Aziz and Deputy Mayor Syed Zeeshan Naqvi inaugurated the water filtration plants on April 22. Other senior officials including MPCL Consultant Administration & Security Shaheryar Khan and General Manager Exploration Tufail Ahmed were also present during the inauguration ceremony.

Previously, MPCL had initiated the rehabilitation work on the request of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI). MCI had asked MPCL to conduct rehabilitation work on several of its abandoned and inoperative plants for the provision of clean water to citizens. Additionally, MPCL has been requested to extend its work to several other projects in various areas of the federal capital.
