Lahore: A delegation from a British company has expressed its interest in investing in waste to energy (WTE) projects in Punjab, according to a news report. The said company, AK Enterprises NAIK Ltd, met Punjab Energy Minister Dr Akhtar Malik to discuss this investment.
The delegation told Malik that the company was willing to initially invest USD 15-20 million, along with technical support and the provision of raw materials. Malik assured the delegation that this investment would be fully supported by the provincial government due to its contribution to the energy sector of Punjab. It was revealed that these WTE projects would be installed near major cities for maximised productivity and that the Punjab Government was willing to facilitate no-objection certificates (NOCs).
