Lahore: Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has warned against the wastage of water in a publication. The publication urges everyone to save water for the present and future generations.
According to directive of the Supreme Court dated 11th December 2018 under writ petition number 2227807/2018 and under section 21/B Lahore Development Authority (Water and Sanitation Agency) Water Supply Amended Regulation 2017, the excessive use of water and the washing cars through hosepipes is a crime.
The publication further urges against washing floors and cars or sprinkling roads with hosepipes, and excessive use of water for the protection of water resources.
Following the instructions of Lahore High Court (LHC), Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) has also decided to form a Water Police Force. The related arrangements for the formation of the force are being carried out.
