Rawalpindi: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) will submit three plans – aimed at improving its financial condition – to the Punjab government, a news source reported. The government had asked the agency to submit its business plan for overcoming its internal financial crisis.
WASA is also seeking a bailout package worth PKR 800 million from the government.

WASA Managing Director (MD) Mohammad Tanveer held a meeting with officials of the civic agency and discussed the plan.
It was decided that the civic agency will prepare three plans: a three-year, five-year, and a 10-years’ blueprint. These will then be submitted to the provincial government for approval.
WASA also plans to inform the government that there are two ways to overcome the current crisis: a bailout package, or a revised water tariff.
